Durga Puja- What an experience!

They say India is known for its rich heritage and has got an assorted divine culture in each state. I grew up listening to the tales of festivals celebrated in the various parts of the Country.  India being diverse in culture, every year we celebrate approximately much more than 100 festivals including all the religions.  Which I believe is superb to know and to be a part of each festival is bliss in itself.  This time I decided to attend the "Durga Puja" which is celebrated mainly in West Bengal and some other parts of India. At the same time “Navratra” is celebrated which is a chief festival of Gujrat.   To experience the whole in the complete form I went with my shutter to CR Park, Delhi, to accustom myself with culture and zest of Bengal.
For me, it wasn’t only an experience but an impeccable impression of what Bengali culture is blessed with. The essence of Durga puja was irresistible with a virtual brew of alluring colors, bright lights, ethereal religion, humongous idols adorned with flowers and embellishments. The sound of their “Traditional Dhol” and dance was not less than a movie scene for me. The whole place incensed with the smoke of "dhoop", trust me was angelic. The food of course was a mix of all but I managed to have fish fry for the night.
A view of the adornment of the idols from far.

In total, I thoroughly enjoyed the Durga Puja but unfortunately missed the “Sindoor Khela” which was supposed to happen the next day just before the "Virsarjan" on the "Vijya Dashmi" day. I hope I can make it for the next time.
